Clarification Board
L. F. on 01/03/2010 10:38 amMorning:
Just a couple of questions to clarify:
1 - do you know what job evaluation methodology is being used (eg. Hay?)
2 - are you looking for someone to help write all the individual 15-20 job descriptions or to produce a closely defined format to hep the employees/managers write their own?
Thanks
Lynne
G. C. on 01/03/2010 11:55 amI would be delighted to support you in this project - could you indicate your budget figure to allow me to bid at a realistic level? Thanks.
S. J. on 01/03/2010 14:06 pmThe scheme used is the GLPC.
We have a day set aside on Friday 5th March for staff to work on their JDQs. Subject to freelancer availability please quote for spending the whole day on site at School assisting the group/individuals for the day. And also quote an hourly rate if individuals need personal assistance and extra time.
D. M. on 01/03/2010 14:37 pmGood Afternoon
Just a few questions please if I may:
1. Am I right in assuming you have already completed your JE questionnaires but are now requiring consultancy and guidance in order to resubmit?
2. On the day you require consultancy, will your Union Representative be present and/or your line manager(s) to review this process. And do you require time spent with individuals.
3. Have you gone through a formal appeals procedure within your JE process to reach your current situation?
4. Ongoing how much time do you anticipate being required for individual personal appointments?
Finally! I note that you are requiring someone this Friday, but your bidding is for 13 days, may I ask how you are going to select a consultant on that basis.
Many thanks for your time.
Regards
David
L. F. on 02/03/2010 12:02 pmCan you clarify RTR?
Thanks
S. J. on 02/03/2010 12:41 pmRTR

L. F. on 02/03/2010 12:44 pmSorry Suzanne, I'm still unclear. What would you like me to quote for - what does RTR involve and how would you like my help you? I'll need a more detailed brief to quote.
Thanks
Lynne
S. J. on 02/03/2010 14:19 pmHi Lynne
I have been working at Winton Arts and Media College as an Arts and Media Coordinator for the past 3 to 4 years, during which time I was asked to complete a rout to review document. This was done based on the guidelines of my job description.
During the time I have worked here the job description bares no relevance to the work I currently do.
Last month the new salary and grading structure BG07 was introduced and my salary will be reduced next Jan 2011. This I think has come about because of a few factors
1. The form was completed based on my old job description.
2. The staff was not made aware of the importance of the document.
3. Greater detail and reference needs to be enforced in key factors that appear in the document.
The staff at the college have been given a chance to resubmit the document, this must be completed by the end of the month.
I would like you to quote me a fee, on supporting me in completing my documentation, as I feel it needs to be handled by professional in this field.
Do you feel you could assist me in a way forward?
Suzanne
L. F. on 02/03/2010 14:55 pmHi again, thanks for the clarification.
I find it odd that they are reducing your pay if the job description has not changed, anyway, that's another matter.
I can assist you but I cannot quote you via this message board or I will be barred (!) so I think you will have to send me another request for a quote - I'll try and do a second one on the original. My quote would be based on:
Reviewing your current job description
A face to face or telephone meeting with you to discuss the role and how it can be presented.
Reviewing the revised document. Probably about four hours work?
Lynne
