Experience Level: Expert
Description:
Graphic Artist needed to design the users interface elements of our software applications. We have several tools and a CMS that is used for creating on-demand web-based applications (for example, a product catalog). Were specifically looking to make our complicated tools easier to use. We have several tools and we call them "Apps" and "Widgets".
We use the same concept as Yootheme does on their "Zoo App", if thats what you call it. Anyways, our apps are the same.. content builder, product catalog, download arf chive, etc.
When making our elements, refer to the quality of their themes (boxes, badges, menus, etc).
Requirements:
2(+) references. Can be friends, family, school or professional
Scope of Work:
You'll be in charge of designing and developing the interface used for all of our tools. Your specific scope of work is limited to only theme related responsibilities. Those responsibilities will include the following:
-PSD Design
-HTML/CSS for exporting
-Learn to use our software to export your designs (html/css creation software makes it easier)
Thats pretty much it.
You will be given "properties" that can show up on a app. For example, on the catalog app, when creating a new product, some of the properties are...
- Price
- Title
- Images
For the most part it will be up to you what properties show up on the page, and where on the page they are to be displayed, and how they are to be displayed (GUI).
There are also times when you can design an app or widget, make the htm/css and we'll do the programming to make it work on our CMS.
Anways that is roughly how it works
Pre-Requisites:
2+ Years (solid) HTML4/5
2+ Years CSS3
1+ Years Adobe Fireworks (not "I have before")
- NOTE: If no experience in Fireworks, 2+ years minimum with Adobe Photoshop
Understand the capabilities of javascript.
Links:
Yootheme.com/zoo (we have very similar tools... almost identical)
What to do when applying:
Send 3 exports of your BEST AND LATEST themes or elements that you have to display.
- If you did the HTML/CSS, tell us the date/time is was made and the name of the site it was made for so we can see if it is up and running (to check your HTML/CSS skills).
- We dont care about going to your profile (and WONT), just send over your 3 best from your portfolio.
=======================IMPORTANT UDATE=====================
Keep in mind that this assignment is unique. Also, this is not the only job board in which we recruit. Being said, although our account on PPH is new and we have a low number of bids, we are in fact in need of fulfilling these positions. There is more than one of these positions available.
Please answer a few questions as per the project clarification board BEFORE sending us your bid...
1. Do you have experience with Adobe Fireworks?
a. Are you familiar with using...
a.a Paths?
a.b Masks?
a.c Textures?
a.d Symbols?
b. Do you understand the concept of exporting slices?
b.b Are you familiar with what a CSS sprite is?
2. Do you know HTML / CSS and if so...
a. What versions of HTML are you fluent in?
b. Do you have any pages that you can send so I can read your HTML/CSS
3. Are you currently employed? If so...
a. When would you be available to start?
b. Can you guarantee that you will not have to give us lame excuses once you start working with us?
b.b. For example, a lame excuse might be
1. "I have another client that I need to finish up!".
2. "My router isnt working!".
3. "There is a problem with my ISP!".
4. When are you available to start?
Also, provide at least 2 references in which we would be able to contact during the training process.
Also, if you plan to make $35/hr that is fine, however, you must also provide proof of past income. If you do not have proof that is okay, we don't underpay our staff members, we in fact over-pay them.
In reality though, your salary will depend on experience, expertise, knowledge, skills, and other factors, we determine an appropriate salary that is above industry average. We start training at $17/hr. Once trained our minimum salary for this position is $23/hr with a 45 hour/week cap.
Thanks again for your time, looking forward to hearing your reply, reading your documents (html/css) and seeing your portfolio.
