A. P. on 01/08/2011 19:01Hi Neil,
Do you need just one webpage with a search facility and the map and a backend to manage the points ?
Cheers,
Atif

M. F. on 01/08/2011 23:37When you say you have an existing system to be cloned, what language is this existing system written in and how much of that code can be reused?
As asked below, it would be helpful to see the existing system.
Also, is there a database of points, or are they read directly from the XML file?
How many points are we looking at handling?
Thanks for any clarification you could provide.

R. S. on 02/08/2011 09:02Link to existing app would be useful. Plus a sample spreadsheet that would be imported.
Also any specific reason to output it to xml (e.g. save on disk permanently) rather than plot to maps directly?
Or do you want the entire xml to be plotted on the map, so as more sheets are imported, they are added to the same xml file and thus the xml file grows.
Here are some practical tips on staying safe
- Never pay any money to Clients and or provide sensitive details like your Bank information, Credit Card or Passwords
- Never accept a Job if you have been directed away from PeoplePerHour to another website
- Be cautious when providing your personal contact details (email, telephone number, instant message ID etc) before your Bid is accepted
- If you have been asked to send samples, put a watermark on them or send low resolution examples to avoid being exposed and not getting paid
- Don’t start work before your Bid is accepted and your Escrow deposit is made
- Keep your Escrow account topped up and ensure that you use the Private Message Board to track all pertinent details about the Job e.g. timelines, deliverables etc
- Before you supply final works to Clients, ensure you have adequate funds in Escrow
Remember: if something looks too good to be true, it probably is!
