Title:Google Map
Location:Anywhere
Job Description
I am looking for someone with some decent knowledge of customising Google Maps
I am putting together a web site and am looking to have a google map embedded with a list of venues on same page and you can click on the link and it will display it on the Google map.
I am able to embed a Google map but cant do it as per the examples on the sites below - so looking help...
The kind of thing I am looking for can be seen here...
http://www.nighttours.com/london/gayguide/gay_map.html
http://www.londonpass.com/londonMaps.asp
Ideally I would like to be able to update the map points etc myself, so if it could be done using an XML list that would be good (I think Nightours do theirs that way).
Thanks in advance
Gary

A. M. on 25/05/2010 17:06Hi Gary,
The two websites you've shown in your description are using google maps for their website. You could do this yourself, if you're interested. Just go to google create an account, then go to google maps, then my maps. You'll then be able to add your places, then the text you want. You can even make it a private map so that you can use it only for your website.
When you're done, hit link, then copy and paste your code into your site.
If you still want me to bid, then let me know.

G. C. on 25/05/2010 22:37Hi Andrew
I have managed to do it in Google Maps and embedded it on my site, however I am not able to link directly to the points within the map from a text link elsewhere on the site, like in thetwo web sites I have given as examples.
The Nighttours one seems to use an XML document for a list of venues with descriptions etc - I am just no sure how to code and implement that - wich is what I am looking for.
Here are some practical tips on staying safe
- Never pay any money to Clients and or provide sensitive details like your Bank information, Credit Card or Passwords
- Never accept a Job if you have been directed away from PeoplePerHour to another website
- Be cautious when providing your personal contact details (email, telephone number, instant message ID etc) before your Bid is accepted
- If you have been asked to send samples, put a watermark on them or send low resolution examples to avoid being exposed and not getting paid
- Don’t start work before your Bid is accepted and your Escrow deposit is made
- Keep your Escrow account topped up and ensure that you use the Private Message Board to track all pertinent details about the Job e.g. timelines, deliverables etc
- Before you supply final works to Clients, ensure you have adequate funds in Escrow
Remember: if something looks too good to be true, it probably is!
