Clarification Board
A. J. on 20/02/2010 17:27So, just to clarify, you want a designer to initially design a couple of concepts for this site. Then, go through the usual 'adjustments to the design as I am pretty sure there will need to be some kind of client input to ensure the design works. Then, build the site from scratch (it being a 'large' e-commerce site, input all of your content, then do all of the usual compatibility and useability tests required of a PROFESSIONAL e-commerce site, all for noting more than £750. Crikey, if anyone does want to do this for this type of money and can produce a really nice PROFESSIONAL looking website, please do let me have their details as you'll be getting a real bargain!!!!
K. A. on 20/02/2010 18:37I think "Client" is willing to pay £500-£700 for help only, if he is looking for someone to do the whole eCommerce Website, I think budget is too low, however, he can get hosted eCommerce Solution for this kind of price and we can do this, thanks
N. E. on 22/02/2010 04:44Absolutely agree. Perfect example of how undervalued our profession can be. You want experienced professionals but you're only willing to pay sweatshop prices. Please quadruple your budget and re-post. Thanks.
Here are some practical tips on staying safe
- Never pay any money to Clients and or provide sensitive details like your Bank information, Credit Card or Passwords
- Never accept a Job if you have been directed away from PeoplePerHour to another website
- Be cautious when providing your personal contact details (email, telephone number, instant message ID etc) before your Bid is accepted
- If you have been asked to send samples, put a watermark on them or send low resolution examples to avoid being exposed and not getting paid
- Don’t start work before your Bid is accepted and your Escrow deposit is made
- Keep your Escrow account topped up and ensure that you use the Private Message Board to track all pertinent details about the Job e.g. timelines, deliverables etc
- Before you supply final works to Clients, ensure you have adequate funds in Escrow
Remember: if something looks too good to be true, it probably is!
