Job Description

We are a UK based company that sell video games (xbox 360, PS3, PS2 PSP, Wii, DS, PC), blu rays and toys.

We need an ecommerce site built, so that we can sell our products online. Below is a list of features and functions we need from the site.


- Stock Control - A reliable method to prevent overselling of products. Checks on the stock levels when adding a product to the basket and each stage of the checkout process to ensure the product is still in stock. Adjusting the stock level only when transactions have been successful and payment received.
- Feature to limit the number of items that can be bought per customer on specific items.
- Pre-order facility to take pre-orders on items that are yet to be released. Pre-order button replaces add to basket up to date of release.
- Customer registration and login features.
- Customer able to view order history in their account section
- Customers can update their details, address, password and email
- On the registration display the strength of the password entered.
- Feature to update the status of the order (order received, sent for picking, dispatched).
- Customers can request to cancel transaction at the order received stage.
- Mini Cart shown on each page.
- Integrated search bar at the top of page, with auto complete
- List of current bestsellers
- Website contact form with a drop down menu field giving options of enquiry type (i.e returns, delivery , general queries etc)
- Product listing showing customers whether item is in stock or out of stock in a prominent position
- Usually Dispatched within time frame section on item detail page
- Automatic order receipt sent to customer s registered email addresswhen each transaction is complete
- Discount codes
- Customers have to register or login to checkout
- Currency - £ default, other currencies selectable
- Set different shipping costs depending on the country (free delivery in the UK) and different postal services

Admin Back end
- Orders page sortable by date, search by order number, item title
- New order section that are yet to be processed
- Order number automatically assigned to each order
- Automatic printable invoice generation for each order
- Drop down menu to update order status for each order
- Feature to send batch confirmation emails order has been dispatched.
- Check boxes in order section to select orders to batch process invoice printing, updating order status and sending emails to customers.
- Create and manage discount codes and promotions
- Charts to show sales, users
- Newsletters and promotions email system
- Manage newsletters and subscribers
- Section to manage users and view users
- Dashboard showing the number of new orders, total sales monthly.
- Section to show search terms entered into site and top search terms
- User friendly addition of new products, categories and images.
- Searchable database
