Job Description

I\'m looking for a piece of original art that is inspired by the attached photo.

I\'m bidding for the complete rights to the artwork - that is, I can exploit it commerically as I see fit without recourse. I am willing for the work to be signed discreetly, and am also happy to credit the artist (although without creating an obligation to do so).

Main target is digital - the picture needs to be square, and will be scanned in and used as the basis for a music single cover. The attached file is copyright - however a recent court ruling in the US has stated that the subject of the photo\'s estate does not hold publicity rights to the subject\'s likeness - therefore an original artwork which has the subject\'s likeness is fine.

Sorry if that is all a bit convoluted! Feel free to ask questions - the song is a happy, summery song which name-checks the subject of the photo. The original artwork could be a painting, or an illustration - let your imagination run riot! Prefer no Andy Worhol though.

Can I just ask that where you say an "original work" does that mean you are not open to Digital Artists bidding for this project?

Hi Jackie - I am open to digital artists bidding for this project. By original, I just mean it has to start with a blank screen / page / canvas, and can't be something like manipulation of the reference photo. Does that answer your question? Best wishes, Ben

is the subject to be the artist but not in this specific pose/shot? If the artist but in different poses then I may already have a few originals I have produced for myself that could be used.
