I'm a graduate, experienced, content editor but unfortunately your budget is completely inadequate. At the lower end of the scale you're looking at £20 per hour.

I'm sorry, I have to agree with RW. You're offering barely above the national minimum wage and in return you want an experienced degree-educated professional. If any professional is prepared to work for the wages of a cleaner, then you have to ask yourself why. Pay peanuts, you get monkeys.

With 26 years' editing experience and a degree in computer science, I find that salary extremely insulting.

Good luck!

U B 'avin a larf, matey. Us scribblers need an 'ole lot mor than seven squids an hour. U bttr try yur local JobCentre. Plenty degree bodies there gaggin to B 'richly rewarded.' Toodle-pip.

You mention that your staff are 'richly rewarded', and other jobs you've posted pay 200 to 400 per day (25 to 50 per hour). Do you have any plans to richly reward your Content Editor, too, or can the person who fills the role expect to always be underpaid and undervalued?
R. L.R. L. on 24/01/2012 16:49
Good luck getting an experienced content editor for minimum wage; I'm a trained technical writer and SEO content manager and I would charge at least four times what you're offering here. Just because you're hiring through a freelancer site, doesn't mean you should devalue people's skills.

An interesting and demanding role, well described.

However, your rates are wildly inadequate and a bit of an insult to the professionals on this site. Your rates do not even meet the level of a living wage.

Hello Masayuki,
This looks like a really interesting role- would you consider allowing bids from outside the UK?
J. D.J. D. on 09/02/2012 21:46
Completely absurd - £7 per hour less tax & NI - you would be earning about £4.50 per hour - is this a typo and you actually meant £17 per hour?
