Title:CSS editing of Wordpress Theme
Location:Anywhere
Job Description
I am using a wordpress theme by directorypress to create an online directory of wedding photographers and suppliers. I have seen other sites using this theme where the CSS has been edited to personalise the site. i.e. changing the colours, backgrounds etc. I imagine this is fairly simple to someone who knows what they are doing, but although I have built simple sites and I am reasonably tech savvy, I don't really know much about CSS. I would expect this only to be a few hours work to someone with the right skills.

N. R. on 13/10/2010 01:22The site is: www.greatphotographers.co.uk
It is very much under construction at the moment. The wordpress theme is by 'DirectoryPress' I would like to modify the background colour and the colours of the title bars.
There are also a few areas where I would like to add / change text where the theme dashboard dosen't provide the ability, and therefore this would require editing the code.
As an example, this site: www.festivalnet.co.uk uses the same theme but has been modified. I would also like to modify the package options on this page: http://greatphotographers.co.uk/submit/ to remove the Google Maps option. This have been done in the aforementioned festivalnet site, but it must have been done by editing the code as there appears to be no method to remove it from the wordpress dashboard (as far as I can see!)
Hope that explains my requirements more fully. I'm happy to reply to any other questions. Thanks for your interest. Nick.
G. P. on 13/10/2010 02:49It is really difficult to quote on something like this... It's like me saying:
"I am looking for someone to come round and paint the outside of my house... £250 budget."
What I am not telling everyone is how BIG or SMALL the house is, how many storeys, what kind/quality of paint I expect to be used, whether I supply the paint and tools...
Imagine if you agreed to do the painting job for £250, and when you pitch up outside, you see for the first time that my house is the size of Buckingham Palace...
Only the desperate (and/or foolish) would venture to bid on such a vague brief.
A. I. on 13/10/2010 06:41Hi Nick,
First, I'm apology for some provider who "Only Know Condemn". You can Ignore him as if this work not for him, he should not bid to this project, and make himself look foolish.
Secondly, You want to re-design this directorypress to the tech-like directory?. any reference from the tech-like directory?. I know directorypress so I need only the reference that you might be interest (If any), and make our work easier.
Regards
Here are some practical tips on staying safe
- Never pay any money to Clients and or provide sensitive details like your Bank information, Credit Card or Passwords
- Never accept a Job if you have been directed away from PeoplePerHour to another website
- Be cautious when providing your personal contact details (email, telephone number, instant message ID etc) before your Bid is accepted
- If you have been asked to send samples, put a watermark on them or send low resolution examples to avoid being exposed and not getting paid
- Don’t start work before your Bid is accepted and your Escrow deposit is made
- Keep your Escrow account topped up and ensure that you use the Private Message Board to track all pertinent details about the Job e.g. timelines, deliverables etc
- Before you supply final works to Clients, ensure you have adequate funds in Escrow
