Title:C# programming - management system communicating with an open API script

Location:Anywhere

Job Description

I have a website. If you go to telecaretechnology.com, you will get an understanding for what the service does - In it's simplest terms, the service works like so:

- A call is made to the service user at a designated time
- If no response is received then a subsequent call is made within 30 minutes
- If there is no response to the second call then nominated carers can be notified by phone call, email and/or text message. It really is that simple!

We have a management system to manage this, and it is built to a good level where its fully functional. I now want to add more features such as

- Reports. The API feeds back call logs etc so it would be a simple case of translating this info in a presentable way, make charts out of it, have reports for individual users and collate info for companies (the way the MS works is you set up a company and then have logins for that company, so in the database each service set up is linked to a company, and would need to collate the info).

- Invoicing. A service that generates invoices for us. We have two levels of logins - company and individuals. With companies it would need to make an overall invoice and for individuals make a quarterly bill.

- Bulk upload. A feature where I can import and CSV file into the management system and in turn imports the calls into the API.

- Groups. A way of grouping services so that there is overriding control and can be turned on/off altogether, audios can be changed to all etc.

- Telehealth service. We are developing a new service and would need the front end for this; it would still be within the same MS but would require to show graphs with results from last 30 days etc.

- Automated emails. When a service is set up, a simple email sent to the company general email and to our email.

- A feature so when we sign into the admin login, it goes off and works out what invoices and due and also who have failed to respond to their calls (rather than make a piece of software that runs from a server, just make it static)

and a few more things.

I have had a quote from two C# programmers but wanted to put it out to freelancers also; they say it will be simple coding and wont take them long at all. I want to work with people in the UK and who are available easily by phone and email.

I am happy to have discussions and show people the task further, also have a look around the MS etc. The previous guy has written up a hand over document so should be easy.

Hi Jamie,

Hope your well.

From the back of a napkin estimate, it looks like around 2/3 weeks of work.

Naturally you'll then test the new functionality before go-live.

One thing to note is that in programming, its better to take your time and design solutions that are easy to maintain/update/replace in future.

That way you save on maintenence time/costs in future.

Coding quickly without planning ahead is not good for the long run, so be wary if someone says they can do it in a few days.

The questin I wanted to ask was weather my time estimates above are within your timeframes for this project?

Regards,
Wajeeh

Hi Wajeeh,

Thank you for your email. Thank you for your advice and yes I would be worried if somebody completed my tasks in a matter of days - I would want a handover guide at the end of the project so that anybody could pick it up and carry on from where the last project left off. If it is done well enough, I would come back and ask you to do 'phase 2' also.

My plan is to get it done in the fastest possible time, but quality must not be sacrificed for this - so I will take as long as it needs for it to be perfect. It is also a bit of a trial and error, so when I map out what I want, its not always exactly the end product and I will come back with improvements so I will need a bit of flexibility so it would be important to keep the coding clean and simple so that we can work efficiently.

Where are you based? It would be good to meet if you wanted to accept this project.

Hi Jamie,

I'm based in Watford and I assume from your contact us page on telecaretechnology.com, your based in Bristol.

I've worked for a few companies in Bristol before, so getting there and around town is not an issue should you want to meet to discuss the project in detail.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Regrads,
Wajeeh
