Title:Book-keeping
Location:Anywhere
Job Description
We are a management consultancy firm with approx 25 clients. We are now working on an opportunity that could potentially increase our client base to 50 and therefore give us little time to do the book-keeping for our clients ourselves. We are therefore looking at the different options available to us for book-keeping
1. Recruit full time/part time employees
2. Outsource to other firms
We currently use Tally for the book-keeping for our existing clients. All our clients are owner managed and small businesses. Job required to be done is to enter the transactions in recognised accounting software, generate financial statements and file quarterly VAT returns.
This posting is to invite bids from accountants who are already doing book-keeping and who can pick up the book-keeping for 25 clients in the first slot. Location is not a constraint. Documents can be scanned and e-mailed /uploaded in a shared server.
We expect to pay a fixed price per client per quarter. So, please bid accordingly

A. B. on 30/08/2010 13:25Hi Timothy
Do you need a qualified Accountant to do this for you as a Bookkeeper can do this without any problems and I am a Certified Bookkeeper with the ICB so would I be ok to bid for this.
Thanks
Alfred

T. J. on 30/08/2010 14:48Hi Alfred
Thanks for your question. We are not looking for a qualified accountant as a pre-requisite to do this job. We are happy to consider people Qualified By Experience also. We are CCAB qualified accountants in our practice already and therefore will be checking and signing off the work ourselves
Thanks
Tim

T. J. on 30/08/2010 16:25Hi Brian
Thanks for your question. However, in my view, location of our firm should not have an impact on the bid. Please let us know if there is any specific reason why you would like to have this information. I shall then assess the requirement and revert with an appropriate reply.
Thanks
Tim

T. J. on 30/08/2010 16:32Hi Pauline
On an average, we are talking about following volumes per quarter per client
8 to 10 pages of bank statement
150 to 175 purchase invoices
Daily till sheet i.e 1 sales entry per day
Thanks
Tim
J. C. on 31/08/2010 14:09Hi,

Can I assume that the book-keeping is required only for the purposes of the VAT return and year-end accounts, or is it also required to enable cost control, etc, which could easily involve more work?
M. L. on 02/09/2010 17:58Dear Tim,
I have several questions that I would appreciate a response to:
1) Would you or the bookkeeper provide the recognised accounting software or would data entry be through a server?
2) If the bookkeeper is to provide the accounting software on own system, would it have to be Tally or Sage is acceptable?
Thanking you for your clarification so as to enable accurate bidding.
Regards,
Devon

S. B. on 08/09/2010 21:52Dear Sir/Madam,
I use Sage Line 50 software, Are you wanting to change everyone over to a new software programme for this expansion?
Here are some practical tips on staying safe
- Never pay any money to Clients and or provide sensitive details like your Bank information, Credit Card or Passwords
- Never accept a Job if you have been directed away from PeoplePerHour to another website
- Be cautious when providing your personal contact details (email, telephone number, instant message ID etc) before your Bid is accepted
- If you have been asked to send samples, put a watermark on them or send low resolution examples to avoid being exposed and not getting paid
- Don’t start work before your Bid is accepted and your Escrow deposit is made
- Keep your Escrow account topped up and ensure that you use the Private Message Board to track all pertinent details about the Job e.g. timelines, deliverables etc
- Before you supply final works to Clients, ensure you have adequate funds in Escrow
Remember: if something looks too good to be true, it probably is!
