Job Description

We are refurbishing and extending a semi detached house in Finchley and are seeking an architectural technician who can input into the specification and building proposals to support our structural engineer.The building proposals are as follows:

· To raise the roof level of the existing single storey rear extension.
· To carry out internal modifications.
· To construct a first floor extension at the rear of the property above the existing kitchen.

The works that we will require your input into, will include items such as wall construction and thermal insulation requirements, roofing, rooflights, roof insulation and waterproofing, underfloor heating, flashings guttering and rear glazed wall.

The building will be geometrically surveyed and the structural engineer will use the survey drawings to produce internal structural alterations and the planning information. We would require you to add the Architectural Building Control elements to these drawings in advance of issuing them to our builder.

We believe that the extension proposals fall under Permitted Development, but will be doing a ‘planning drawing’ to submit to obtain The Certificate of Lawfulness.
