Title:Accountant required to sign off 3 years historical accounts for mortage application
Location:Anywhere
Job Description
Hi there
Hopefully a common request. I am a qualified accountant and freelance IT consultant and do my own accounts. I am applying for a mortgage and therefore need an external accountant to validate my accounts for the last three years.
Standard procedure I think is for a letter on headed note paper saying the accounts are correct.
I can supply any documentation required (bank statements, copies of accounts etc). Can also supply access to xero but accounts there only maintained from may 2009.
I am willing to pay £200 for this.

If you submit copies of your last three years self assessment tax returns clearly showing the submission reference to hmrc to the mortgage broker or finance house that will do you do not need an external accountants reference

J. A. on 05/08/2011 10:10Hi CB
Thanks for that useful info. Based on my limited research so far some mortgage companies do not accept this if you are a limited company director. For example First direct will not accept SA302 forms. Not sure why. ING do access SA302 forms.
J. L. on 05/08/2011 02:46I have just completed such a request for a client, the broker refused the tax returns in favour of the SA302's (HMRC statement of account) which HMRC do not routinely send out any more but can be obtained from one of the options on the detailed Agents Clientfile

That is crazy. What better proof can you provide?
I have a source at one of the high street banks who may be happy to look at your application with validated sa returns if you are intersted

Here are some practical tips on staying safe
- Never pay any money to Clients and or provide sensitive details like your Bank information, Credit Card or Passwords
- Never accept a Job if you have been directed away from PeoplePerHour to another website
- Be cautious when providing your personal contact details (email, telephone number, instant message ID etc) before your Bid is accepted
- If you have been asked to send samples, put a watermark on them or send low resolution examples to avoid being exposed and not getting paid
- Don’t start work before your Bid is accepted and your Escrow deposit is made
- Keep your Escrow account topped up and ensure that you use the Private Message Board to track all pertinent details about the Job e.g. timelines, deliverables etc
- Before you supply final works to Clients, ensure you have adequate funds in Escrow
Remember: if something looks too good to be true, it probably is!
