Title:A simple Javascript game
Location:Anywhere
Job Description
Hi There,
We've got a really quite interesting little project on the go and we need some helping hands.
We're in the process of building a website much the same as botb or Best of The Best to you and me. Essentially the user will go on he website purchase tickets that represent the amount of 'goes' that they get at guessing the correct position of the football on the picture. The user will then continue through to make payment and receive confirmation. They will also complete the process by 'sharing' the fact they've had a 'go' by using Facebook and Twitter.
We only need this built for one game. The website, unlike botb is going to be built to win just one prize.
We will do all of the graphics and provide as much help as we can. Our team have reasonable experience in web development, so we don't mind pitching in where we can to make sure things move nicely.
The game should be playable on both standard computers and also touch devices such as the iPad and iPhone as the competition's marketing will also contain a street team who will attract passers by to 'have a go'.
So with all this in mind and the fact that using WordPress would be preferred, I look forward to hearing from you.
P.S. Please ask decent questions, I'm not interested in copy and pasting bids or a long list of irrelevant projects using totally unrelated development techniques- come on guys we're better than that right!

E. K. on 08/02/2012 23:09HI Alex,
I just made a javacript game and can show a demo , any chance for bids outside uk :).
Thank you
A. P. on 11/05/2012 15:44We are happy to look at some movement on the budget if this encourages more bids on the project however I do not want to influence the bidding and therefore would like to keep the value disclosed. Thanks, Alex
G. R. on 11/05/2012 16:08Dear Alex,
Thanks for the invite. Do you have a framework already designed around this site and simply require the implementation of the game? I'm assuming you'd like the game results to be stored in a MySQL database. Will you need an admin interface to display the results of the games? For the iPad and iPhone versions, would it be sufficient for the site to display correctly on a phone / tablet or is an iOS app required? Would you require implementation of a payment gateway as part of this project?
Regards Giles?

A. P. on 12/05/2012 16:31Hi Giles,
We've done virtually all of the design but we haven't worked on a framework for the site, no.
As you can see from the games on Best of The Best, the result is to get the nearest or exact coordinates of the position of the ball and this game will be exactly the same so we will need to distinguish the answer is some way. We're not too fussed how great this looks it can just be basic to keep costs down- at the end of the day once the competition has run it won't be used again.
It would be very highly beneficial if it is at least viewable on iPhones but it's more of a requirement to be able to play the game on iPad because street teams will be taking the game out to play with the public.
Again, like the Best of The Best site, payment is taken once a customer has played the game and wishes to enter the competition.
I suggest checking out the BOTB site before bidding because it's 99.9% of the functionality.
Thanks,
Alex
Here are some practical tips on staying safe
- Never pay any money to Clients and or provide sensitive details like your Bank information, Credit Card or Passwords
- Never accept a Job if you have been directed away from PeoplePerHour to another website
- Be cautious when providing your personal contact details (email, telephone number, instant message ID etc) before your Bid is accepted
- If you have been asked to send samples, put a watermark on them or send low resolution examples to avoid being exposed and not getting paid
- Don’t start work before your Bid is accepted and your Escrow deposit is made
- Keep your Escrow account topped up and ensure that you use the Private Message Board to track all pertinent details about the Job e.g. timelines, deliverables etc
- Before you supply final works to Clients, ensure you have adequate funds in Escrow
Remember: if something looks too good to be true, it probably is!
