Posting a Job on PeoplePerHour takes no more than a few minutes and is Free. Once your Job Ad is posted it will go up on the site to be viewed by our community and thousands of Freelancers with matching skills will be notified to bid for the Job. You will typically start getting bids within the hour, detailing what the Freelancer can do, for how much and in what timescale, and will get over 16 bids on average.

There are 3 types of Jobs on PeoplePerHour:

1. Fixed Price Jobs: where you have a Job with a defined end date and deliverables.
2. Hourly Jobs: where you need to hire someone regularly and pay them for the hours they complete per week.
3. Commission-based Jobs: where payment is on target results (e.g. weekly sales).

You can also search for Freelancers based on the skills you want, location if relevant, and hourly rate, and invite them to bid for your Job.

When you get a bid you will get an email notification to log in to your Account to view the details of the bid. In your account you can compare bidders based on their work history, the price they quote you, detailed feedback reviews from other Clients on PeoplePerHour, their portfolio of work, and credentials like test results in their specific skill-sets.

TIP: Freelancers will often use the Clarification Board just below your Job Ad to ask you questions before they bid. You can also message bidders in private from your Account, asking further details on their proposal, shortlist the best ones, and then select one or more to award the work to.

PeoplePerHour makes it easy to get your work done while keeping you protected at all times. No money is passed to the Freelancer until you are happy that the agreed deliverables have been met.

To start a Job the Freelancer will require you to pre-fund your account with a deposit. This is held in a Client deposit or Escrow account until you release it on completion of the work. We do not charge a fee for this service. The deposit can be paid online using Credit Card or Paypal*, or you can send a cheque or bank transfer and notify us here.

* please note that payments via Credit Card or Paypal incur a recharge of 1.9% payment processing fees which we incur. Bank and cheque do not.

When the work is completed or the next agreed milestone is met, the Freelancer will invoice you through the site. For Hourly Jobs, the Freelancer will invoice you weekly stating the hours worked. You can then review the work and release the funds held in Escrow, or raise a Dispute. Disputes are dealt with in accordance with our Dispute resolution policy. To raise a dispute email us here.

IMPORTANT: PeoplePerHour protects both parties by enabling you to commission work without your money exchanging hands, yet keeping the Freelancer assured that you have funded your account. We charge the Freelancer a small service fee on success, that ranges between 4.5% -10% *. Payment outside the site in an effort to circumvent our fees is strictly against our Terms of Business unless the Client chooses to Opt-Out for a one-off £500 fee. * Freelancers who join as Premium (Gold or Platinum) Members get a service fee reduction.

Once you pay the Freelancer you will be prompted to leave feedback for the work done. Feedback is important - it keeps Freelancers accountable to their work and rewards those that deliver, while helping them improve their service.
