About Me

I qualified as an Electrical Engineer from Manchester University in 1998. I then trained as an actuary for 4 years, working for 2 large life insurance companies in London. As a result, i have advanced Excel skills, and advanced mathematical and statistical skills.

I then changed career completely, and became a Personal Assistant to the Financial Controller of a large Investment Management company in London.

This job involved creating advanced Powerpoint presentations , speed copy typing, minute taking, diary management, event organising, data entry, etc.

I have advanced Powerpoint skills, Advanced Microsoft Word skills, and advanced Excel skills.

I then worked for a large Private Equity company in London, for one year as an Executive Assistant (secretarial and PA support), and for a further 2 years as a Finance & Portfolio Executive, managing a portfolio of investments. I also therefore have strong experience liaising with clients.

I left work to have a baby and am now working as a freelancer from home.

I have strong financial skills, coupled with a lot of experience in general office management and support.

Typing speed of 65 wpm.

Self-motivated, fast, accurate, diligent and efficient worker.

A great deal of experience working in the financial services industry (investment management companies, life insurance companies, private equity companies).

I have many years work experience both as a professional (actuary, finance & portfolio executive), and as a member of support staff (PA, secretary, executive assistant).

Experience in general office management eg diary management, copy and audio typing, minute taking, extensive and complex travel arrangements, event organising, ticket bookings, expense reports, etc etc.

Flexible - have experience in many different office jobs, and therefore extremely computer literate.

Capable of meeting deadlines and work well under pressure.

6 Actuarial exam passes, including Finance (which includes analysing Balance Sheets and P&L accounts), Statistics and Economics

2:1 Honours degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering, from Manchester University
