Web Designer & Developer at The Link Brokerage

A web based business specialising in web development and SEO. My role within the team is mainly based around creating bespoke websites for a wide range of clients and undertaking the necessary development tasks associated with this. My role also includes using Java to build windows applications and building both Joomla and Wordpress plug-ins. Due to the nature of the business I have been able to take a central role within the team offering help and guidance to other members in regards to web development and website creation.

As a business the Link Brokerage promotes a youthful, relaxed atmosphere which encourages team cohesion. One of the key aspects of my role is interacting with my team members, this includes sharing 'photoshopped' images, creating office based viral videos and promoting office competitions.

Web-developer at PASS Ltd

I was solely responsible for company web development which included developing, designing and creating commercial websites. Due to the nature of the organisation as an entirely web-based company, my role was of paramount importance. I was fully responsible for the department's smooth running and during my tenure with this company I have created the following:

* http://www.pat-testing-training.com
* http://www.pat-testing-services.co.uk
* http://www.pat-testing-course.com
* http://www.pattesters.co.uk
* http://www.calibrationcheckbox.co.uk

As well as working heavily on http://www.pat-services.co.uk I found that I enjoyed the challenge as the high workload developed my time management skills. The main skill set involved was XHTML, HTML, CSS, MySQL / PHP and SEO ('pat testing course' is one of the main keywords targeted during the campaign) with good exposure to good web design practice, W3C standards, ASP.NET and Javascript. Throughout the time at PASS Ltd I

IT Officer at Hartlepool Borough Council

Supporting People is a national programme which helps vulnerable people to live in their own home in the community rather than in specialist schemes. My role in the Supporting Team is to maintain and update their current I.T systems and increase their web presence.

Before my arrival the Supporting People team had a limited web presence and many procedures were entirely paper-based. My responsibilities included updating and maintaining the two Supporting People websites and using various bespoke applications to revamp the way that Supporting People handled their information. This included a complaints database built in Microsoft Access using VBA code which successfully logged complaints and took the user through the Supporting People complaints procedure until the complaint has been dealt with.

During my time at Hartlepool Borough Council I worked heavily on their main website: http://www.hartlepool.gov.uk performing SEO, HTML, CSS and MySQL / PHP.
