About Me

I am a highly experienced project manager in the live arts and digital media fields. I am co-director of a small company producing arts-based events for personal development, but do a variety of other work alongside to supplement my income. My skills are varied and, in addition to project management event planning, my freelance work includes copywriting and transcribing. I turn my hand to many things, for example I am an experienced voice-over artist. I thrive in any role that involves engaging and communicating successfully with a diverse range of people.

I have summarised my experience under different headings for ease of reading. A more detailed career history follows.

SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE:
Project Management:
- 10 years PM experience in the media sector
- Personal experience managing property development

Event Planning:
- Own company producing large and small scale events for a variety of clients, with many industry contacts.
- Staged programme of activities at the Guardian Hay Festival 2008.
- Produced events for English National Opera and Sky as an independent freelancer.

Writing / copywriting:
- Spent 10 years as a media producer, which included extensive scriptwriting and CDrom / website copywriting
- Currently write all marketing content for my own company

Admin:
- Regularly transcribe financial results conference calls, for several clients including Expedict Ltd.
- Working as a media producer necessitated strong organisational and communication skills
- In my distant past I temped as a PA

CAREER HISTORY:
June 2007-Present: Co-Director, Arts Incorporated Events Ltd
Developing, managing and staging corporate events, using the arts as a focus to engage, inspire and develop work-related skills. Also responsible for new business generation and marketing content, including all copywriting. Clients include Sky, Starbucks and SMBCE.

May-June 2007
Education Connections Ltd. (Freelance - Educational Resource Consultant)
Managed a research project for E.ON. A hard-copy educational resource was produced and trialled around 20 schools in the UK. Responsibilities included scheduling face-to-face interviews with participating teachers, leading and recording their feedback and creating final reports.

Feb-May 2007
BDP Media Ltd. (Media Producer and Acting Project Lead)
Developed large-scale multimedia educational resource for the NTLCP for the QIA. Responsibilities included managing pre-production for the project, designing and developing all content, producing proposals, reports and copy, managing educational specialists, following intense governmental procedures, setting up and managing a large trial group and balancing government requirements against teachers needs.

Oct-Dec 2006
English National Opera (Freelance - Project Manager)
Set up and managed a major corporate event for ENO sponsor, Sky. The event included programmes in London and Scotland, with a range of arts-based activities. Responsibilities included managing the client, designing and developing activities, briefing and managing artists and facilitators, producing contracts, managing a budget of £20K, balancing corporate and creative needs and co-ordinating the project from start to finish.

April 2001- Sept 2006
Interlink Communications Ltd. (Corporate Video and Interactive Media Producer)
Employed as freelance on a retainer with project-to-project contracts. Major clients included Powergen, Companies House and Cats Protection. Responsibilities included managing the client, designing structure and game concepts for CDroms, writing and directing video elements, casting all roles including sourcing celebrities, managing all aspects of production, negotiating contracts and researching and conducting interviews.

1998-2007: Professional Actress
Worked as a struggling actress alongside my media career. Never got very far - my biggest claim to fame was as the face of Topps Tiles! I still do the occasional corporate video and some voiceover work.
