About Me
I am starting out as a freelance translator and copywriter, having predominantly worked as an actor for the last 8 years.
I know I have the skills, commitment and attitude to be useful to lots of people.
Acting, as everyone knows, is a profession that involves some thumb-twiddling. That's never been something I'm much good at. I've always kept myself active and stimulated between acting jobs: tutoring GCSEA-level students in French and English, translating plays for the theatre, writing feature travel articles, making short films and playing in a band.
I have always loved writing and translating and suspected I could use these skills to supplement my income as an actor. A post-graduate diploma in translation and work experience at two prestigious advertising agencies in London, confirmed I could produce work to a professional standard. I've included some examples in my portfolio.
I am now itching to get more experience and PPH seems like a good place to start.
Areas covered: Translation, copywriting, proofreading, editing.

Work Experience
BRANCHING OUT. I have acted professionally for the last 8 years in theatre, film, TV and radio, including seasons at the RSC, Shakespeare's Globe, Skins, the BBC's Bafta winning Criminal Justice and several plays on Radio 4.
Between acting jobs I have always been keen to keep myself active and stimulated. I have translated a number of French plays for theatre productions and tutored French and English up to A-level.
I have written features articles for the Penguin Time Out Paris Guide and, recently, done copywriting for the advertising agencies Kitcatt Nohr and AIS, in London.
I am new to PPH, but hope use it as a place to gain more experience in the fields of copywriting and translation. I know I can do work of the highest calibre but am taking my first steps in freelance work of this sort. As such, I will work for very competitive rates.
