Work Experience

I currently perform a wide variety of editorial roles for a major legal publishing company. These roles include writing and editing reports, ghostwriting blogs and conducting web-TV interviews.

Between 2008 – 2010 I wrote for, and edited, Solve, the client-facing publication of CMS Cameron McKenna. This position required me to devise story ideas that would be of interest to the firm’s company director and in-house lawyer client base, commission and manage a team of legal journalists, and write and edit news stories and features.

I have recently worked on two research projects for the Legal Services Board. My research examined diversity in the legal profession and also aspects of the profession’s regulation.

Dec 2000 to Mar 2007
Senior writer / project manager at The European Lawyer Ltd

My duties at the European Lawyer Ltd included:

Producing the European Lawyer’s Handbook of Independent Law Firms. Besides dealing with 100+ law firms, this project required me to manage several external contractors simultaneously;

Project-managing the delivery of a financial performance survey of major European law firms. This was a joint-venture project between the European Lawyer magazine, accountants BDO Stoy Hayward and LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell;

Writing features for the European Lawyer magazine relating to the management and regulation of law firms throughout Europe;

Producing surveys and other statistical data benchmarking the changing face of the European legal profession. For example,
I created a database which analysed trends in the European headcounts of AMLaw 100 law firms over several years.
