Experience:
I was responsible for technical design and implementation of a reporting data warehouse in SQL Server to enable month-end reporting processes to access the accounting data from the central Fund Accounting system, Hiportfolio. This involved developing a large number of data feeds from Hiportfolio using RGs, coupled with Visual Basic middleware components to perform the ETL on the data. These components harnessed Tibco Rendezvous to provide authenticated messaging, and used SQL DTS packages to load the data into staging tables, from where a number of stored procedures manipulated the data into the main data warehouse. This data warehouse has grown at a rate of 4Gb per month since delivery in Dec 2002 and now contains over 300Gb of data, with no noticeable drop in report performance.
