Freelance journalist

I am a UK based freelance journalist and author.

I make my living in news and features writing about real people with real life stories. Subjects are paid if their story is placed. Contact me if you have one to tell.

Other aspects of my work are teaching journalism students at University and others who want to learn about the general business of writing at an Adult Education Centre.

I also write newsletters for various organisations and the occasional press release for business clients.

An interest in local history and nostalgia led me to write my published book, Devils Let Loose, which went to the top of a best seller list when released in 2001. It inspired, and was used as the basis for, a community play production in 2005.

I am currently stuydying for an MA in creative writing - script and fictio

I want to further develop this side of my profession but lack contacts. Agents and publishers who want a talented, creative, inspirational and accurate writer, with lots of ideas and the skills to develop them in line with tight deadlines, should contact me.

I live with my partner, son, and two boxer dogs. Our three grown-up daughters have all left the nest but are never far from home.

Experience:
I've worked for both UK national and regional newspapers and magazines, written and edited varioud newsletters for large organisations, I teach journalim, and I've written and distributed press releases for business clients.

Education and Training:
Shorthand 100 wpm
NVQ in print journalism (degree equivalent) 1995.
