I retired as a media professional with more than 40 years electronic and print media experience in the public and private sector and writing for broadcasters and news agencies such as the The BBC (British Broadcasting Corp), AP (The Associated Press), REUTERS, The Caribbean News Agency, VOA (Voice of America) and various government and other publications.
I have the ability to cover a wide range of subject areas but I feel I am at my best with projects or assignments (press releases,Web content, newsletters) covering many aspects of business or industry, IT and software, consumer intelligence, real estate, retail, trading, travel and product or catalogue descriptions.
Experience:
I am a British (BBC), Canadian (CBC) and U.S. (Syracuse University) trained nroadcaster and journalist.
In my roles in broadcasting/journalism -1964-1978 and Information/Public Relations (1978-2004) for governments, government agencies and private sector concerns, I created brochures, press releases and newsletters. I also produced and edited publicity leaflets, Website content and event specific or periodic agency/company and government articles, releases, reports or publications.
2000 -2004: Media Sales Executive, Commonwealth Broadcasting Association (CBA)/McMillan Scott. At times I advised on the editorial agenda. But I was mainly responsible for national and international advertising sales for the Commonwealth Broadcaster (quarterly magazine) and the Commonwealth Broadcaster- Annual Handbook, two publications of the London based CBA.
AWARD
In 1977 in recognition of my services in the media, H.M. The Queen awarded me with the Membership of the British Empire (MBE) medal.
