Work Experience

I have been working as a remote legal typist for over two years working for an outsourcing company dealing with all audio typing of letters, documents, memos etc for a large firm of solicitors based in London working directly into their case management system. I also work for two small firms of solicitors again typing of letters, attendance notes and documents direct into their case management systems. I also carry out administrative work for one of the small firms of solicitors with tasking of emails to the case management system, adding tasks required from the emails and opening up new clients and matters etc. I have also worked for companies on a one off basis with helping update their website by checking the codes from an excel spreadsheet with the website and removing any discontinued items or items in the wrong section and highlighting the items which were unidentified i.e. not being discontinued nor on the website. Adding the ones missed from the website onto the spreadsheet and grouping the items together. I have also done some transcription work for a focus group and a journist based in Cyprus and some copying typing work.

Prior to this I worked as a legal secretary/PA for the past eighteen years working in a number of fields for large, small and medium sized solicitors. My previous employment was working as a conveyancing assistant where I dealt with all of the handling my own files and also did holiday cover in the cashers department dealing with all of the client cashering work. I was also responsible for moving and setting up the computers in the company and sorting out any problems and also any problems we had with the digital dictation i.e. locating lost work etc. I also dealt with petty cash, shopping for the office and stationary ordering. Before working in the legal field I had worked in a number of fields from data inputting of work on to computer systems for petrol companies, delivery firms, computer companies and stocks and shares for the Stock Exchange. I also worked for Bollom Dry Cleaners in the service department and training department where I was involved with dealing with all of the breakdowns/service appointments and on the training side typed and set up the Health & Safety manuals, slides and manuals of the hazardous chemicals. I also worked for the Council in a department which dealt with college course typing up and helping design booklets and information on the relevant courses and also slides for conferences.
