About Me
I am a British national with a science background (PhD) and more than 20 years of writing and editing experience which was gained in parallel with my career as a research scientist. In this context, I have worked with the European Commission; the Royal Society of Chemistry; IAEA; various European universities and science publishers; and the pharmaceutical industry. I have published 20 peer reviewed articles based on my scientific research.
I have been a full time freelance professional since January 2009 and have many happy clients on other sites (e.g. Elance) where I consistently rank within the top 0.6% of writers.
I produce well-researched high quality work which has appeared in print media and on the internet. I recently completed my seven hundredth article for a client on forex fundamentals; our project started almost three years ago and calls for a daily piece - I have never missed a deadline.
I have a highly analytical mind and I excel at taking complex ideas and explaining them in accessible language. My writing style is concise and compelling; please take a look at my portfolio and see for yourself.

We are delighted with Mike's work. The subject matter was challenging and he has exceeded our expectations with the writing he has delivered. Mike's writing is a subtle blend of intelligence, style, in-depth research; with emotions and a sense of humour injected in the perfect places. We would highly recommend Mike to any other organisation or individual who desires to work with a top notch writer. We would definitely use Mike again.
Work Experience
By training, I am an ultratrace analytical chemist. This means that I used to determine small quantities of metals in anything from ocean sediments to the blood of new born babies. My career started at the University of Southampton, UK and then took me to Ghent, Belgium for a PhD; Lyons for a post doc at the CNRS and then I worked for the IAEA for thirteen years in Monaco and Vienna. I was responsible for determining depleted uranium in the post-conflict environment in the Balkans and Kuwait.
I have written innumerable reports and brochures and lectured and given training courses around the world.
