About Me

One of my key objectives as a developer is to make sure that all work is done in a high quality timely manner.

High quality: as this is what you are paying for, and will reduce any time required for revising the work. And in a timely manner: as I appreciate the underlying necessity for work to be delivered, both on time to fulfil your expectations and to also allow the project to be profitable.

Being a highly mission focused and driven individual, I thrive when there are well planned out tasks to undertake. I will loyally devote my time to create the most efficient and presentable solution to clients, and will not stop until I have achieved my objective.

Arriving at work ahead of schedule, well prepared and presented is what I pride myself in. After 12 years commercial experience in the IT industry I have learned that being organised will allow for the best productivity.

With a strong commercial background and awareness I can oversee the necessary actions and approach my work in the most appropriate fashion to deliver the best possible product.

A feew things to do but Michael has proven that he can tackle anything.

by Brandon C on 15 May 2012

From the offset, Michael was the only choice for me. He was the only one who actually took the time to read the brief properly and after a lengthy chat, I realised how much he new and the advice given couldn't be faulted. He ended up saving me an absolute fortune. He knows his stuff and anything you need advice which is web related or if you need him to create anything for you, he's your man. 5*

Work Experience

Over the past 11 years I have undergone a lot of online training to successfully deliver projects in most of the main programming languages and database protocol.

Including

PHP, MySQL, ASP, ASP.Net, C#, MSSQL, XNA, CSS3, HTML5, Flash & Access & JQuery

For this reason I am confident that I can further diversify if necessary to deliver projects at the highest level.

I have focused a lot on Facebook applications and games over the past year as well as web and stand alone apps that allow companies to use their data more efficiently.

Maybe that is seeing who is due to send you money, perhaps using dashboards, graphs/ charts/ alerts, or an application that works for the client, for their health, then I am very keen to create the most efficient and user friendly web and stand alone applications.

As well as this I can quickly and efficiently create up to the minute SEO friendly, clean websites. I can either do this from scratch, creating bespoke websites, or use any of the current templates or OS Solutions like Joomla/ Wordpress/ Joomdle/ OSCommerce/ Virtuemart (to name but a few)

With my vast commercial experience and cost effective hourly rate I have a lot to offer anyone who needs a web designer or developer.

Education

When I left Art School in 2002 just after my wife had our first child I decided to pursue a career in IT.

Many of my Art Projects were computer based and I had also completed many small projects for local business’ for free to gain experience.

That was where it all began, after 2 years playing around with websites I decided to make it my full time career.

Now 12 years on and a lot of commercial experience, including working for the NHS and Universities in the UK I feel I am qualified to advise on the most complex of web or application developments.

I have undergone various on-line training courses over the years and learned to adapt my techniques as technology continually developed.

I see web development as a "learning to learn" sort of job where I am continually learning, as things are continually enhanced there is never a week where there are no new technological advancements.

I thoroughly enjoy this aspect of my job as is it keeps me on my toes and allows me to socialise with many of the worlds best programmers.
