Background
I was born on a hot summers day in Sicily and I lived in the windy city of Messina for 26 years, often travelling to England, Ireland and Spain in order to improve my language skills.
I obtained a BA Hons in Modern Foreign Languages and Literature with a final dissertation on T.S. Eliot and, while studying for my degree, I worked as translator and interpreter for a local NGO and as private language tutor.
In 2004 I moved to England and completed a PG Diploma in Screen Translation at the University of Leeds, focusing on translations and subtitling. After a temporary placement in a translation agency in London, I moved back to Leeds where I have further developed my career working as in house translator and interpreter for an international company and on a freelance basis for translation agencies and individual clients. Moreover, I was giving private tuition of Italian to students of all ages and levels.
In June 2009 I moved to Australia where I continue providing my language services and I teach Italian in two language schools.
