About Me

For affordable, quality, award winning copywriting, Martina Mercer is all you need. Proficient in all areas of the written word from websites to reviews, Martina Mercer has an extensive history of bringing brands to the global market and making them thrive through her unique down to earth writing style, using her own copywriting methods that adopt the three C's. Clear, concise and conversational!

Simple, Stylish and Succinct!

Martina does not baffle your visitors with pretentious words, instead she uses clear copywriting organisation, easy to read copy and simple techniques that are proven to work, making your customer click that link to purchase or contact and lowering bounce rates by up to 90%.

A Catalogue of Credentials

Not only does Martina Mercer write articles and advice columns for a wide range of national magazines, to date she has effectively produced sales copy for more than one hundred live websites, and combined with her HND in psychology she has added the extra ingredient to make these websites compete with the big brands and win.
Product launches are her speciality and with a huge media following Martina brings a database of prolific visitors along to any product she becomes involved in, her history of clients include high profile clinics, national food magazines, a Dragon’s Den product and many more.

Remove the Risk

Martina truly cares about the success of your magazine, service or product, seeing each sale as a point of success for her growing reputation, with a history of being able to crawl under the skin of the brand, her research skills are second to none, and she will adapt your product as her own as together you make it a worldwide success.

Budget Bargains for your Budding Brand

Whether its website copy, articles, spinning or press releases, Martina Mercer can help with her affordable copywriting services. She understands that many new products have a limited budget and so is the only copywriter to offer budget options for that budding big brand.
She has spent time sourcing the best writers that work from her office, The Orangery, producing quality material for bulk orders, as the Martina Mercer brand believes that just because the quantity is significant to boost your ratings and increase your visitor counter, the value should never be compromised. Every written word on the internet that highlights your business is a reflection on your business standards.
As well as business copy Martina regularly writes about food, gardening, TV, parenting and relationships, and a quick Google or a browse through her portfolio will prove her published credentials in these areas.

Work Experience

I have been working as a freelance writer/journalist and editor for a number of years now. I began my writing career at the age of nine when I won the Brit’s Young Writers Award for making up a story about underwater elves.
After owning a string of bookshops and health food shops in my early twenties, I suddenly had an epiphany and realised I wanted to be on the shelves, not behind the counter.

I became a technical author for a leading national insurance company, and although enjoyable and challenging I realised I needed a little more of a free reign to be creative.
Blogs were becoming an increasing trend, so as I Serial First Dated around the country, I used this medium to report my antics the following day. The response was quite overwhelming; I had public and celebrities alike demanding a book, a TV show, or any medium of writing that would showcase my skills further.

I gave into public demand and wrote my first book, “The Ghost’s Daughter” (released as The Ghost Garden in the USA), I’ve since written another with the help of Channel 4 and Dispatches and this is currently in the editing stage.
During this time I’ve worked as a Lead Editor for a well-known publishing house, and now I write, edit and review on a daily basis. My style is unique, will pass any copyscape and promises to bring a legion of followers along with it.

I adore writing about film, TV, health, fashion, celebrities, sex, relationships, gardening and food, yet I also work extremely well under pressure and have a successful sales patter when writing copy for websites. Ifound this to be my niche, and my recent contracts have included writing product descriptions for a well-known chocolate shop, reviewing film, TV and kids cartoons, writing articles on a variety of health and wellbeing issues, giving sex and relationship advice to the masses, producing sales copywriting for websites (including SEO), and much more.

I am described as being quite quirky, energetic, and enthusiastic and an eternal optimist, just what every company needs to sell their product or integrate with the public!
I generally add a little humour into my writing, but I am not averse to being a little more formal. (I can sit at my desk wearing a dickey bow!)

I also have a couple of assistant writers who I use with bulk orders of articles, however any work I bid on I always always execute myself, and only use my assistants for large orders that are submitted to freezine sites for the purpose of SEO. When communicating about a job I will make it clear in my bid if I intend to use my assistants or execute the work myself.

At Packtypes we all love how Martina has got under the skin of our brand, understood our vision and worked with us to create our editorial style. She is always brimming with creative content ideas, full of energy and enthusiasm and delivers, delivers and then delivers some more. Great writing but also lots of commercial savvy. My favourite Martina expression 'Leave it with me' and you just know its going to happen.

Education

I am trained in most aspects of SEO. I have a vast array of qualifications relating to media, writing, journalism and English literature. I am a quick learner and always eager to learn more. I am not lying when I say that new courses are my staple hobby, like doing soduku over a coffee break.
I am always willing to train to meet a particular job specification, assuming of course I don't already hold the relevant qualification.
I have a HND in Psychology and Criminology which helps with my insights into the public and what they like to read. I have a diploma in Creative Writing which benefits all my work copywriting. I also hold a BA(hons) in English literature.
