About Me

An Italian-born freelance editor and translator with a degree in Italian Literature and Fine Art (equivalent to an MA, 1st), I can offer 20 years in publishing spent both in Italy and in the UK, working for reputable international publishing houses like De Agostini, Taylor & Francis and John Wiley. As editor, I have worked on art part works and art, architecture, children’s and travel titles in both Italian and English. My specialty is illustrated, non-fiction books, both for adults and children, and custom publications, which I develop and produce to the highest standards.
I have extensive experience of the entire editorial and production process: from typesetting to proofing, from colour origination to manufacturing; in tandem I am accustomed to managing budgets and to liaising with authors, freelancers, suppliers and clients to meet tight schedules. I enjoy briefing designers to achieve the best layout for the publications I manage. I am a proficient copy-editor and proofreader and, where necessary, I also rewrite, reorganise and originate text. I work both on PC and Mac and I am a confident user of Microsoft Office, InDesign and QuarkXpress.
I am also a skilled Italian translator, able to offer over 10 years experience working on important accounts like Mazda, Canon, IKEA, HP to name but a few. I mainly translate and edit websites (My protein, easyJet, emailvision, go spoken, [Link Removed]), books and B2C magazines, but I can handle most documents if not too technical. I have recently translated scripts and voiceover for adverts and promotional videos for Siemens and Mazda: I have enjoyed the experience and I hope to do more in future.

I have a degree in Italian Literature and Fine Art 110/110 (equivalent to an MA, 1st). Furthermore, over the years I have attended numerous training courses specific to publishing and translating (copy-editing, indexing, colour management, InDesign, Trados etc).
