About Me
I am a freelance developer with more than 12 years experience of designing and developing applications for desktop and web deployment. I\'m interested in both short and long term arrangements and have recently delivered a completely bespoke web based document repository application as well as a web shop based on the TradingEye e-commerce application.I have a history of software development experience in rigorous, standards driven environments that require an eye for detail and a dedication to quality that I carry through into all the development that I perform.
Previous employers have included market leaders such as Vodafone, Nationwide Building Society and Bank of Ireland.

Work Experience
For the last 3 years I\'ve been working as a web developer using PHP, MySQL, (X)HTML & CSS on a LAMP platform and have successfully deployed sites for Chorley Family Playgroup, Ethical Path and Mitchells & Butlers Franchise amongst others. Prior to that I delivered a Management Information (MI) reporting application based on MS SQL Server/Excel to Vodafone and a similiar thing to the CPPIH.
The remaining 8 years of my working life have included a CRM system based on Remedy and an MI reporting system based on SQL Server to Bank of Ireland, various military software projects written in assembler and numerous roles in telecoms companies writing, C, SQL, Unix scripts and Visual Basic.

Chorley Family Playgroup
Provide a customized content management system that works to promote the services offered by the playgroup as well as permitting the non-technical administrators to add news and images to the site to keep the content fresh and current.

I can not fault the excellent service which the playgroup received. Mr Ferris was very thorough and ensured that the website was exactly what we required, exceeding the expectations we had of him. I would gladly recommend his services to anyone as he is very knowledable within his field.
