At Aqueduct, Carolyn and I were the only team in the small creative department. This means we got involved at the grass roots of a job including strategy and planning. We finely tuned our skill of cracking a brief within tight deadlines. And had to become client facing presenting at pitches and chemistry meetings and to existing clients. We've also got involved in compiling the creative part of scoping and pitch documents or creative presentations.
It also enabled us to re-engage in new digital thinking more specifically concepting, art directing and developing apps, social media strategies and campaigns and big-build websites.
My role as Art Director, as well as the regular duties extended to some basic art working, illustration and logo designing.
Our role was mostly big idea thinking and executions for a range of clients over the 4 advertising agencies within the group: Leith, Farm, Tangible and Blonde.
One of the biggest clients was the COI, which included campaign topics as diverse as the jab to protect against cervical cancer, longer-lasting contraception awareness, and the Additional Support for Learning Act.
As well as Buchanan Galleries, a huge shopping centre in Scotland where we produced their new brand from scratch, including developing a new tone of voice, visual identity and their campaigns and events which worked across all their media channels.
I constantly design in my spare time to maintain and improve my design eye and Mac skills. More specifically brand and event identities including logos, business stationary, brochures, invitations, flyers, menus, table plans etc.
I love designing and implementing this into my art direction.
I designed The MRJ Group's corporate identity which stemmed from a strong logo into business cards and letterheads.
Reviews for this Job by:Karen is a highly talented designer. Very personable with huge energy, she enjoys taking a company to the next level. When tasked with creating The MRJ Group's corporate brand within a 3 weeks timescale, it did not faze her. She developed the brand which I am very proud of and one which certainly stands us out against our competitors. I would have no hesitation in recommending Karen in the futureHide Review
