About Me
I am a professional freelance copywriter, editor and proofreader. I can guarantee original and compelling words with extremely careful attention to detail, whether I am writing for you or editing and proofreading on your behalf.

I qualified as a proofreader with the Publishing Training Centre in 2006 and am an associate member of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders. I have also undertaken further courses to continue my development and keep my skills up to scratch.
I have worked with one client for over two years; developing, editing, proofing, researching and writing for a series of biographies for print on demand and digital publishing. I have also been involved in writing and editing the marketing copy for this organisation.
Other shorter term clients include: small businesses who need SEO website and marketing copy; businesses requiring editing, writing and proofreading of a range of documentation; self-publishing authors, fiction and non-fiction; Masters students whose first language is not English.
My business background has been largely within the charity and IT sectors, in sales, service delivery and project management.
As a former project manager I am extremely well organised, as well as conscientious and efficient when it comes to meeting deadlines. If I take a job on, clients can be assured that I will be honest with costs and timescales and will endeavour to meet all agreed requirements.
I am a writer in my spare time and I love working with words which is why I took the leap into freelance work. I enjoy meeting and working with new people and have clients all over the UK, as well as in the US and Australia.

Work Experience
I have worked with a range of clients from authors looking to get their work up to scratch for publishing, to Masters students whose first language is not English, to publishing houses.
I work ongoing for one newish publishing organisation, for whom I proofread, edit, write copy, and manage the document library, as well as providing management information as required. I also helped devise management and editorial processes which I maintain and update as required.
I have edited and proofread a number of books and worked closely with their authors to ensure their support for changes made.
I am also experienced in research and fact verification to ensure that content is accurate and up-to-date.
As a former project manager, I have excellent planning and organisational skills which are extremely valuable for organising my workload and keeping to deadlines.
Although UK-based, I have worked extensively with US English also.

To date we have produced three series of Print on Demand and eBooks, as well as audio scripts and recordings. I have been responsible for proofreading and editing all initial documents and PDFs prior to publication, as well as researching and writing some of the content. In addition to this I have been involved in editing, proofing and writing marketing material.

I am a Philosophy graduate and have A-Levels in Sociology, English Literature and Religious Studies.
