After 30+ years' experience, I can offer a professional service in all aspects of secretarial and admin work. I have recently resigned from my full-time job working for a Family Law Partner in a solicitors' practice, although I have previously worked in many fields - legal being the most recent. I would like to offer my considerable secretarial and admin experience to potential clients. My priorities are accuracy, presentation and speed, and I would much rather ask a "silly" question than get something wrong. I have over 30 years' experience in secretarial/admin/personal assistant work, having worked for accountants, architects, an advertising agency, insurance loss adjusters and most recently, in the legal profession, where I have experience in UK matrimonial/family/children law, conveyancing (commercial and domestic), personal injury, medical negligence, wills, probate, debt recovery, and general litigation.
Transcribing a 24 minute interview (employment disciplinary) with five different speakers, and arranging into a logical, professional format. A high degree of care and accuracy was needed, and all words, vocalisations ("umm"s, for instance) and part-words were to be included. This job was needed urgently and completed within 2 hours of delivery. Transcribing took a total of 1 hour 13 minutes including checking.

As well as a very heavy audio typing and secretarial workload, Joy performed various other tasks on my behalf, such as Internet research and obtaining detailed information by telephone from courts, government bodies and clients, saving me time and effort. Joy also helped me with marketing exercises, such as designing and sending out invitations, mailshots etc, and keeping databases of contact details. Joy always worked well on her own initiative and tackled any problem with proficiency and common sense, also keeping me informed by email or telephone of any developments or messages during the day. My extremely busy schedule meant that I was regularly absent from the office for whole or half days, and during those times I could be confident that Joy would make sure work was done on time, and accurately. I trusted her to sign and send out (and often compose) correspondence herself as I knew it would be correct. Joy gives a lot of attention to detail and takes much pride in presentation. Anyone who decides to use Joy's secretarial skills will find her support invaluable. She is highly professional and she will become an asset you will want to keep.
