About Me

Having written as a hobby for the last fifteen years I have recently made the leap into full time freelance writing. In addition to the occasional cold sweat and mortgage worry I am both excited and driven. Current mantra: "I will make this happen"*

Having worked as a legal clerk for the last eight years I am proficient at letter and document writing. I get my jollies from researching and writing and am happy to write articles, blogs, creative and descriptive content

When I'm not writing I read and cook and try to get my toddler to remember what I look like.

* mantra subject to change on a daily basis

Work Experience

My last position as a legal clerk has entailed providing full administrative support to a probate specialist solicitor, including desk management, all secretarial duties, organising and maintenance of filing systems, raising and chasing invoices and liaising with both internal and external professionals when clients demanded.

Prior to this I held a position as a CV writer and recruitment coach for a local college and training facility which involved interviewing clients to discuss options for further training, work based learning and employment and helping with the creation and development of CV’s and introduction letters as and where appropriate.

Finally, as a Public House Manager I was responsible for the day to day operation of the business, including marketing and writing menus, special events information, advertisments and web content.

Education

GCSE’s in Mathematics, English Literature, English Language, Science Geography, Religious Education, and Craft Design and Technology

BTEC National Diploma Public Services

The course was intended to prepared students for employment within the public sector and featured standard modules on Law, Behavioural Studies, Sociology and Criminology, as well as optional subjects such as Health and Safety, Leadership Skills, which featured the study of managerial techniques, group dynamics and interview skills – and Expeditions skills, in which myself and three fellow students had the task of planning and executing a three day expedition in the Peak District National Park.
