Work Experience

I have many years experience in a research environment building databases, dealing with mailshots, producing tender documents and research reports and audio and digital transcription. I also have considerable experience of working on book chapers and journal articles.

From my time in a chartered surveyors office I also have experience of producing valuation reports and tender documents.

I have experience of website maintenance using Dreamweaver, Frontpage and Contribute.

I have also completed a proofreading course so would be happy to undertake any proofreading work.

PA at Newcastle University

PA to three managers. Duties include diary management, arranging travel, appointments and meetings and setting up and servicing of committees which includes taking minutes, preparing agendas and papers and ensuring follow up actions are taken. I act as first point of contact to all three managers for internal and external enquiries and visitors. I currently work in the Faculty Office as PA to the Dean of Research, Deputy Head of Administration and Research Funding Development Manager. Duties include diary management, arranging travel, appointments and meetings and setting up and servicing of committees which includes taking minutes, preparing agendas and papers and ensuring follow up actions are taken. I act as first point of contact to all three managers for internal and external enquiries and visitors. I also manage the research pages of the Faculty website to ensure they are current and up to date. A large part of my job also involves event organisation which includes booking of venues, catering, delegate registration and all other associated administrative tasks.
