Career Experience
-Employed to produce quality products for retail outlets and website sales.
- Reassessing existing designs in order to produce them more cost effectively whilst
not affecting the original design.
-Producing dxf files and drawings for profile templates and laser cutting.
- Introducing new designs to be sold alongside the originals.
- Recording new manufacturing processes, materials, suppliers, costings and design
considerations using drawings and computer aided design (Solidworks) .
-Teaching the production team how to make these designs.
- Producing presentation drawings for quotations,costings and production.
-Meeting customers,visiting retail outlets to discuss designs,liaising with suppliers and
overseeing quality.
-Work commissioned by architects requiring designs and produced metal pieces
to suit their interiors and themes. Most of these designs were installed in pubs, clubs and
public venues. Work was produced from technical drawings that were either personal or
supplied by the clients.
-Working directly with clients to design and produce decorative stainless steel lights
for luxury hotels yachts and ships.
-Produced ranges of designs and manufactured pieces to feature in a lighting company
catalogue.
-Employed to promote Industrial links with Education.
-Produced educational kits and demonstration models for use in the classrooms.
-Community work commissioned by Public organisations and funded by Charitable means.
These involved a lot of contact teaching with members of community groups, the general
public and within educational establishments. My work involved taking groups through the
design process to the end realisation and in leading workshops where groups were involved
in practical sessions including hands on metalwork.
