Originally from an electrical / electronic trades and retail background, I spent 25 years starting, acquiring, and building my own businesses - 13 years in engineering, including fabrication, manufacturing and distribution, and a further 12 years in construction, refurbishment, and maintenance.
For the last 7 years, I have had mainly, interim, troubleshooting roles • reorganising teams, processes, and structures - planning and implementing strategies and procedures, delivering success and gaining new business across a wide range of situations.
A member of Mensa since 1977, my intellect, skills, and experience allow me to quickly assimilate data, reading situations and people accurately, so as to see the bigger picture - moving swiftly to place the right players in the correct positions.
Combining this with good intuitive skills and a sound technical knowledge means that I often find solutions, as well as markets, openings, and opportunities that others miss.
Very client facing, hands-on, and leading from the front - this comes through, as much in my motivating of colleagues, as in my ability to gain customer and contractor confidence.
I am a strong character, creative and inventive, often unconventional • something of a tree shaker - very much a people manager and an experienced team and business builder.
