I am a professional writer-editor-proofreader with 12 years experience. I have worked for major companies such as the BBC, General Electric, ITV, BAFTA, Admiral Insurance, Confused. com, Chambers & Partners Legal Guides, Citroen Wolf Publishing, plus various SMEs and local media. All of the above demanded the highest levels of literacy and I was proud to deliver first-rate B2B & B2C content or editorialproofing services to all of them.
Since 2006, I have concentrated on SEO web copy (articles, web pages, newsletters, forms, guides etc), as well as writing persuasive, targeted sales emails. In addition, I am experienced at using social media to promote articles written for the web and I have also directed several Twitter campaigns.
Previous experience includes writing television programme listings and movie previews for the BBC, setting up and editing informational websites for new parents and couples going through divorce, providing articles and interviews for magazines, providing copy for local press, and even writing a sitcom for BBC radio.
I am looking for work that will make good use of my extensive and varied writing and editing experience, as well as my excellent web research skills, meticulous attention to accuracy and detail, and ability to bring work in on deadline.

Working in marketing from September 2007 - May 2010, I wrote FSA-compliant SEO articles, user guides (B2B and B2C), sales emails, PRs, newsletters, ad copy, a consumer interest blog, and more. I helped maintain/update the site via a CMS and promoted finished articles via Digg and Twitter. I initiated the in-house editorial style guide, kept it updated, and ensured that copywriters maintained a consistent voice. I worked on major site redesign and site migration projects, wrote online forms (e.g. car insurance questionnaires/help text), and trained new copywriters. Whilst acting as editor, I commissioned work; checked content for grammar, voice and accuracy; brainstormed content ideas; agreed deadlines with managers, and was generally responsible for the site content area.
Chambers & Partners
Proofread and helped edit the worldÃ’¢ï’¿’½ï’¿’½s leading guide to law firms. Duties included proofing text, querying errors, and rewriting into the house style. Freelance position.
BBC
Researched, wrote and edited TV programme listings, movie previews and enhanced content for users of digital TV and the BBC website. The role also required liaising with programme makers, researching databases, and monitoring live output.
UK Digital Solutions
Working in the varied fields of digital forensics/data recovery and online divorce, I was chief copywriter for company websites, newsletters and promotional material. I edited two online magazines and proofread and edited all in-house and externally sourced content. Duties also included managing remote writers, using a CMS, and sourcing/editing images. This B2B and B2C role involved turning complex technical information (to do with digital data recovery and forensics, technical security audits and web penetration testing) into reader-friendly text.
Television Subtitler
Provided subtitles for HTV Wales, West and Central Television. Post made redundant following departmentÃ’¢ï’¿’½ï’¿’½s relocation to Leeds.
Citroen Wolf Communications
Supplied articles, interviews and research for a variety of magazine publications, including an interview with Rob Brydon for the BAFTA yearbook.

I worked on a variety of writing-related projects, including freelance article writing, proof-reading for GE Healthcare, and scriptwriting (one of my sitcoms was produced by BBC Radio).
