Bruce is very good at adding value by advising on strategy and then taking a hands on approach to getting the PR into the hands of the journalists. He is creative and communicative. Recommended.

Work Experience

Dear Sir / Madam,

I'm a digital and traditional creative communications and seeding proposition working across a variety of sectors from technology to entertainment via food and drink, FMCG and sport.

B2C or B2B, national, international or regional, social media and marketing, I am equally at home with them all - creating the idea, activating and then designing compelling stories and news around it that journalists and bloggers want to cover.

My current position is ISE 2012 Project Manger for Plaster clients, PSCo Technical Distribution and Orion. I am in charge of all aspects of the prestigious Amsterdam show for these videowall and large format display specialists. The remit includes stand build, marcomms and media relations. I have also written the majority of copy for PSCo’s new website– summary to case studies.

Smaller projects with Plaster have included the King of Paint RYCA exhibition, Panasonic 152” press (largest and most expensive plasma screen in the world) and the launch of the brand new Makers’ Eye (British bespoke furniture design) website.

In 2011 I helped amplify awareness around Yorkshire Tea's 'Little Urn' TV campaign, 20th Century Fox's 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' (video seeding) and LG's new 3D Optimus smartphone, placing content on-line, (Trend Hunter, Creative Review) in trade publications (Marketing Week, The Drum) and the papers / TV (The Daily Telegraph + BBC South East Today).

In addition to this, I have formulated digital plans to help agencies such as Hotcow, Beatwax, Bright PR and BMB either garner more recognition for themselves and their clients or pitch for new business. If you need to get your message on-line, I can help, having created my own in-house influencer database across the arts and sciences.

Children's toys, doughnuts and trains - I am more than happy to tackle every brief that comes my way.

Before taking on these freelance projects, I was a permanent employee at Dolby Laboratories (surround sound and 3D imaging pioneers) where I managed the EMEA region across PC, gaming and connected electronics (AVR, TV’s etc) and supported in mobile and cinema when needed. Event management and activation at shows such as CES, IFA, Gamescom and MWC and ad – hoc partner marketing activities with companies like LG, Onkyo, Acer, EA, Warner etc were my forte. This position also meant co-ordinating PR activity with our outsourced service providers in the UK (Hill & Knowlton), France (Megapress) and Germany (PR Konstant). I was also involved in some media buying.

In the run up to Dolby, I worked as a PR/creative for hire at a variety of agencies including Cake Group, Mission Media and Radiator both off and on-line. Clients included Nokia, Casio G-Shock, Motorola, Aer Lingus, Billabong, Jabra, Ricoh and Belvilla to name but a few. I even came up with the creative for some TV idents used by Johnson and Johnson to support their sponsorship of 'Grey's Anatomy' and have written adverts for Guinness, Levi's and BMW. (though never submitted them as I was short of an art director at the time)

In early career, I was an accountant with firms, investment banks and oil companies, so I am competent with the financial aspects of business and budgeting.

Please find attached my CV and links to my selected portfolio and LinkedIn profile, which I hope will provide you with the necessary insight into an enthusiastic, imaginative and charismatic individual with an entrepreneurial flair and a network of contacts par excellence.
