Work Experience
I have been employed in a web design and development capacity since the dawn of the internet, and have picked up skills in a variety of related fields as the technology has developed.
I am now a freelance web developer, and keen to supplement my work with jobs from the PeoplePerHour website.
Education
I'm very much a case of being the right person in the right place at the right time!
In the early nineties I was employed producing video-based learning materials for an institute of higher education, just about the time when the internet came along. Largely self-taught, I learned HTML back in the days when "Notepad" was the website editor of choice.
I kept up with developments, and - today - I am skilled in HTML5/CSS3, with a deep awareness of SEO issues, accessibility, and cross-browser constraints. Early Javascript skills and a chance meeting with Director led me into Flash and Actionscript.
These days the CS4 suite are my tools of choice: I am well-versed in Dreamweaver, Flash, Photoshop and Illustrator.
Being freelance, I know how to translate clients' needs into eye-catching, mouth-watering designs!
