I have a very unusual combination of high level writing skills - both populist and academic. I've been a professional writer, journalist, agony aunt and broadcaster (television and radio) for 35 years, and an academic more recently, with 15 internationally published books - YA award-winning fiction, narrative non-fiction, academic - and over 4,000 published feature articles and short stories in women's and general interest national magazines. I have a PhD in Education and psychology, and two First class BA Hons degrees - one in Media, one in English. I'm a skilled researcher, editor and proofreader, able to work to very tight deadlines. I teach MA students in University, and co-authored, with my Professor, a major report for the Irish government two years ago. I have a wicked sense of humour. In a recent worldwide test of 300,000 writers and academics I came 14th in the world and top woman in the world on verbal intelligence (English).
