We are looking for an experienced freelance CAD/CAM designer to turn our initial designs into accurate manufacturing files for our CNC router and external steel fabrication partners. We will begin with one paid trial project, with the opportunity for ongoing collaboration if the results meet our requirements. SCOPE OF WORK Our projects typically involve the following: 1. From initial designs to CNC production files We provide photographs, sketches, SketchUp files or other 3D models, together with dimensions and material information. You develop these into manufacturable parts and prepare accurate DXF files, followed by the necessary ArtCAM work for CNC machining. 2. Preparing existing DXFs in ArtCAM We also have existing DXF files that need checking, correction and preparation for production. These should include dimensions, material specifications, connection details and cut lists where applicable. EXPECTED DELIVERABLES Depending on the project: - Accurate DXF files. - Editable ArtCAM files, including toolpaths. - CNC output files and setup notes for our operator. - Editable SolidWorks parts and assemblies. - Dimensioned fabrication drawings in PDF, with STEP or DXF exports as required. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: You should have practical experience with both ArtCAM and SolidWorks, including CNC router programming and preparation of fabrication drawings.
