The purpose of this position is to create positive perceptions of ILG and to help advance and support our mission. Video content is a vital element in our strategic communications plan and brand strategy, reaching millions of people each year through social media channels and eventually connected TV.
As a highly skilled member of our marketing team, the Videographer/Video Production Coordinator uses professional video production tools to create content-rich, engaging, inspiring, cinematic projects that build the ILG brand and support our initiatives.
*Essential Functions:*
Video Production Coordinator:
Works as a key member of the creative team to plan and execute high-profile video productions that both represent and build the ILG brand.
Plan and executes video projects and manages production for projects ranging in size from small-crew documentaries to larger productions with crews of 20+ people.
Manages production crew members including camera operations, grip/electrical, audio crew, and other student and professional crew members.
Videographer / DP:
Works as a DP (Director of Photography), assuming primary responsibility for the cinematic look and execution of video productions.
Makes creative and technical decisions relating to lighting, camera movement, and other elements that enhance production value.
Assumes primary responsibility for acquisition and maintenance of video production equipment including cameras, grip/electrical equipment, audio equipment, digital media, etc.
Assumes primary responsibility for shooting stock footage of all areas for use by media
Video Post Production / Editing:
Using professional video editing applications (including Adobe Creative Cloud), edits and delivers cinematic, broadcast quality productions, often working within a tight deadline.
Assumes final responsibility for the quality of all video elements to ensure that all productions exemplify high production value and also meet technical specifications of broadcast outlets and social media channels.
Clearly communicates key messages using video technology.
Keeps apprised of rapidly changing production and distribution technologies, best practices and media trends to streamline and improve production workflows.
Digital Asset Management:
Manages both raw footage and produced content to ensure proper workflows for production, cataloguing, organization, and archiving.
Manages a campus stock footage archive and coordinates sharing of video assets.
*Education and Experience:*
Minimum required: Associate’s degree, Film, Media Arts, Communications, or related fields (or commensurate experience) and 1 years and above experience working as a professional videographer
Preferred: Associate’s degree and 1+ years experience working as a videographer preferably as a cinematographer/DP with experience working on large video productions and 1+ years of experience as a video editor and an understanding of the technical side of post-production and complex professional production workflows.
*Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:*
Required:
This highly skilled individual has both the artistic vision and technical competencies needed to create powerful cinematic experiences that elevate the ILG brand and connect with key audiences.
Must have extensive experience working with the tools of the trade including cinema cameras, lighting, and production gear.
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to give and accept direction, and the ability to work diplomatically with others in a variety of settings.
Must have the ability to work under pressure and execute video projects on a tight deadline.
Preferred:
Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud applications preferred.
Preferred experience with color correction, audio mixing, and graphics.
Experience with special effects and drone photography a plus.
Experience with documentary storytelling.
Awareness of emerging trends in video production and distribution, including social media tactics, preferred.
