This Saturday, across the world, is World Mental Health Day. A day in which organisations and people come together to share awareness and support. World Mental Health Day aims to tackle significant issues and is a consensus between organisations to preventing suicides. Across the world, 800,000 die from suicide every year, according to 2018 figures. No doubt that this year's figures will drastically increase due to the impact of Covid-19. With growing Financial restraints and the further restrictions imposed, and today we have a more significant role to play to ensure further lives are not lost due to the impact of coronavirus or even to suicides.
As a mental health support organisation, a not-for-profit, we must provide and share support as well as to inform. We are looking for participants from all sorts of backgrounds, with Medical Backgrounds, Psychotherapy, Counselling or even those who may have experienced mental health first hand or through support a friend or family member.
We are looking to collate a series of videos with people sharing Coping Tips, Coping Advice, support and/OR if you are interested in sharing your Journeys and Experiences with Mental Health.
Videos are to be from 1 minute to a couple of minutes long, and due to COVID-19, we would ask participants to record this from home using a suitable camera. If located within London, UK , participants can do this in our HQ in a socially distanced environment. Examples of these videos and work from Mental health week can be found at our site (https://www.mindallies.co.uk/mental-health-week/) Under Peoples Experiences.
The videos would be beneficial into getting the messages out and letting people know, its okay to feel how they feel. Reach out for support.
However, not all are about personal experiences or professional medical inputs. We are also calling for friends and family members, supporting someone with mental health to share their experience. We understand that it is not easy when it comes to helping someone with Mental Health and support and advice for friends and family members lack out there.
So if you are interested in the following below, please do reach out.
Sharing Personal Journey
Sharing Coping Tips and Coping Advice
Providing a Professional Input/Advice (Registered Therapist, doctors, nurses)
Sharing tips or advice on supporting someone else.
Sharing your journey on helping someone else.
Poem on Mental Health?
Any other suggestions are welcome. We are looking to receive videos in the next couple of days or within a week and would be distributed this Saturday or the coming weeks.
Please let us know a bit about yourself when reaching out.
