Description
Experience Level: Expert
I am looking for a 3D CAD designer to scan in three dimensions some spindle parts for my Sony Hi8 VCR EVS9000E from 1994. I will provide the parts. I am also looking fo someone to 3D print the part. Experience in remaking parts for the mechanics of electric goods from the 1990s ideal - VCR experience a major plus!
I attach video of a similar assembly from another Hi8 camera. You can see that there are two parts. It is narrated.
In the video, the equivalent broken part is the bottom geared capstan. Think of it as a capstan that fits into the top part that looks like a "hat" which has metal inside it which is magnetic. The bottom larger piece has got cracked (from metal expansion) and we need to remake it entirely using a 3D printer. Please see photos - it is about 2cm in diameter.
The top part is in working order and does not need to be remade which is lucky as we need to retain the spring mechanism.
The reason we cannot show you the exact part is that I will have to allocate significant budget to extract out the parts from the machine as it involves a laborious disassembly.
Subject to budget we might ask you to also create a 3D CAD drawing of the forward spindle's capstan which is differs in size but is similar in design.
I am hoping to get someone to 3D print the part so will need a very detailed 3D CAD for printing. Maybe this is something that you might be able to do?
Please let me know if you are interested in this project and the kind of cost you might charge me.
Thanks in advance
