DM is absolutely fine and actually Danger Mouse is one of my nicknames, so crack on!! giggle We are still contacting people if you didn't have a voice mail or missed call, it means you may have a lovely chat with me or another member of the team tomorrow...please don't switch off your phone/be gentle!

Hi,
Dont really understand why people looking at another site is classed at 'jumping ship'. Does an employee only go to one recruitment agent, or read one job page when they are looking for a new job?!  Always worth a look - especially when there's a chance to win an IPad (my hubby wont let me buy one!)

FreelancePeople.co.uk was only launched last week (I dont think they knew PPH were pulling a fast one at the time) so no doubt it will grow over time - I remember a time when PPH was in their infancy too!

Hi Catherine,

I might have over egged the pudding a little there, of course other platforms/services will be explored by all users. You don't only shop in one supermarket, who doesn't have a nosy round other aisles?! But, I still don't want anyone to "jump ship" altogether though.

there is a quest in Lineage2 called "an arrogant search".....maybe the PPH folks should try to make that....

We are heading into what is known as "cool story bro" territory... I think this particular thread has come to an end :D

I was browsing through the PPH site today and came across the announement in the sidebar of the site : this was the first I'd heard of the fee change.

From reading Gemma's post (http://red-robot.net/blog/peopleperhour-apologise-for-service-fee-hike/) my understanding is that no email was/has been sent out about it, which is somewhat disappointing, given the level of customer support that PPH normally provide.

I know I didn't anyway...  unless it hit the spam box; ironically I have raised more invoices in the last 1-2 weeks recently than I can remember in any other two week period. I'm not sure if any were affect by the £2 minimum fee, but will have to check I guess?

I concur with the points mentioned in Gemma's post : I have a high regard for the dedication of the PPH staff and that their transactional costs are higher hence the change, but it does not seem quite fair that a company should retrospectively apply such fees without advance warning.

For sure the majority of the freelancers never received that famous"email".

No, Felicia - you didn't miss it. The rest of us are still waiting too. PPH are probably too busy extensively "screening" jobs from ridiculous clients "to ensure that we all get the same level of service we have become accustomed to".

@Sarah and Zisis: Thanks for your replies! :) It's good to have some feedback.  I hope PPH will resolve this dilemma for us with an email.
