Anonymous bids.

I've noticed that some can make anonymous bids and then the job is mysteriously awarded to someone that hasn't put in a bid, seemingly, curious, is this within the 'rules'. And, why would anyone want to do this?

I bid anonymously because I don't want people knowing my business... simple as.

And yes, you can set your profile to bid anonymously - it's only a recent addition that you could see anyone who bid at all, it used to just be a number

I preferred that - but some people like to have an idea of their competition...

Hello, what difference does it make if others bidding know who they are competing with?
Sofia, I think people can see what your business is, its on your profile. You can see who won bid from the 'wall' most don't turn that off.
I didn't realise that you could bid anonymously from your own profile I thought you must have to create another which shouldn't be allowed.

You can only see what jobs I've won... and I'd prefer it if people didn't know what I bid on - there's no other way I obtain work that everyone can see what I'm currently pitching for, why should PPH be any different. It's nice to have the option :)

My wall is turned off too... ;)

I initially thought that it may be something slightly under-hand but I realise its more of a vain thing, you don't want others to know when lose a bid, but its ok when you win.

Share the success, hide the failures. Well in my case anyway !

Some clients like to snoop and will pull people up on jobs they have bid on. One person lost a client outside of PPH because they saw what they were bidding on here and said they were taking on too much work ( or something like that).

Just generally make use of a privacy setting that exists on PPH.

I block my profile from search engines too.
