The way I see a Paraplanning service is that it should be effective. By effective I mean Paraplanning should release financial advisers to concentrate their efforts on 'value-added' activities; fact-finding, advice delivery, client reviews, relationship management, CPD, client and introducer development. Ultimately, effective Paraplanning should increase turnover, profitability and business value. In addition to the above, I would be available to discuss cases with you. A number of IFAs use this service particularly those who work on their own. This allows IFAs to discuss a case which involves an area they may not normally deal with to ensure they ...are not missing anything and their advice is compliant. Financial Advisers, especially small businesses, can find recruiting the right
paraplanner... difficult, expensive and time consuming. Outsourcing can be the preferred solution to many developing businesses, which then have the advantage of paying for what they require rather than bearing the ongoing costs of a full time employee. I believe I can offer better value for money than employing a full time para-planner, or para-planners. Apart from the obvious costs like salary, national insurance etc there are none of the hidden costs associated with employment, such as, holiday pay or days off through illness. In essence freelance paraplanning is a 'Pay as You Use Service'. My costs and charges can be a driving force for firms to demonstrate to their client the professionalism and skills required to offer suitable advice. This then can help justify the fees charged to the client. All reports are sent as a MS Word document • many companies send you their reports as a pdf file, I send your reports to you as a word document, the responsibility for the advice rests with you (the IFA) and you have to be able to change your documents should you wish to.
