A dedicated and highly motivated team-player looking to progress forward with runner-work and become a full-time production assistant. I wish to use my enthusiasm and organisational skills to develop my knowledge and work as part of a solid team producing broadcast and interactive media. I am currently working part-time at Pure Media. I am a DV camera operator and production assistant. I boast a wide range of duties at Pure Media - ranging from blog/website updates and social networking/viral marketing to designing and buying props for ...sets as well as organising location filming legalities/logistics and managing cast members. Last year, I led a production team on-location... in Ibiza to film material as website content/promotional videos for SimonE. My main responsibility was to find filming locations and getting filming permission from locals as well as organising schedules and transport around the island for the cast and crew. I also succeeded into getting the cast and key crew guest-listed into all the major events taking place on the island. I am fully competent in the use of: - Microsoft Office - Final Cut Pro - Adobde Photoshop - Adobe After effects My main on-set experience to-date has been as a runner whilst also managing artists for a number of different productions such as BBC Electric Proms, FACT & OMD, Royal Romp, and Hollyoaks Music Show. My past experiences have enhanced my production knowledge and skills, presenting me with the opportunity to gain valuable skills in camera technique and different shooting styles. For a number of months, I was a live-camera operator for the online talk show ‘InExcess’. As well as filming, I also exercised my skills of managing a live set and crew which I feel was successful. This was evident by positive comments received by managers and colleagues. My previous experience as a runner has been across a variety of genres; from live-event coverage to scripted dramas and a number of factual productions.

Freelance Editor/Videographer, Stacey M

Freelance Editor/Videographer

Westbrook, United Kingdom
This is an opportunity to tell us about yourself and why you would be a joy to work with. I am an editor and videographer based in the UK. I work on Final Cut Express 4, which enables me to work with HD footage, and in addition to FCE4 I also use Adobe Photoshop, After Effects and Encore, and can also use Adobe Premiere (all CS4). I can use all programs efficiently, and constantly seek to better my proficiency in them. I have previous experience in filming and editing corporate promos for a variety of businesses, interviews, live music performances and showreels, and have also edited a short action film. I would love to work on more of the same, and anything else I might have the chance to be a part of. A Film, Radio and Television graduate I am eager to establish myself within the industry, and relish the opportunity to be a part of the creative process in any and every way possible. I am a quick and eager learner always keen to get involved, and have enthusiasm, energy and a 'can-do' attitude. ...I have previous experience as a Runner on several film and television productions, with experience both onset and on location,... and more recently have gained valuable experience as a trainee Assistant Script Supervisor on a TV series to be shown on SKY next year. I have also worked freelance filming and editing a variety of videos, interviews and corporate promos for various bands and companies, broadening my knowledge and experience of the many aspects that go in to the production process as a whole, not just what happens in front of the camera. I am detail orientated, working effectively to high standards and efficiently to given project deadlines. As an editor, my project commissions to date demonstrate my ability to work to clearly defined briefs, and equally use my own initiative and creativity to drive projects or enhance a given brief.

Camera Op/ Editor, Joe M

Camera Op/ Editor

Nottingham, United Kingdom
I am an extremley motivated, passionate and hard working individual, whom excels under pressure and is quick to adapt to situations. I was born and raised in Hong Kong and moved to the United Kingdom in 2007 to pursue higher education and a career in Film & Television. I graduated from York St. John University in 2010 with a 2:1 BA (Hons) in Film & TV Production. For the past year I have worked freelance, mostly for my self-started company; Fragrant Harbour Productions. I am currently balancing freelance work for my company with being Social Media Manager for The Coco Lounge bar in Nottingham. I have a solid education in Film & Television. Starting with a Higher in Film Studies during my International Baccalaureate, followed by two diplomas at the Hong Kong Film Academy, one in Cinematography and one in Screenwriting, and finally my BA at York St. John. Whilst at university I undertook several roles relating to Film and the development of the arts. I was the representative for both the Faculty of Arts and ...my course on the Student's Union Council. I was chairman of the Short Film Society. I was also a runner... for YSJ TV; a student television station. I have directed five short films, was 1st A.D on one and was a camera operator on a documentary. I was also a location assistant on 'Sky Hook', a short film that won the Leeds Student Film Festival in 2009. I also have a letter of recommendation to support my application from BAFTA winner James Richards. Available on request. However the most important activity that shows my commitment, interest and passion for filmmaking would be my general work experience over the past 4 years. I grew up in Hong Kong, and moved to the U.K because I dreamed of working at the BBC. To gain my BA, I had to pay international tuition fees without the aid of any kind of student support or loans. This meant that whilst I attended university I also had to work 50-60 hours a week to pay off my debts. An example of a typical day at university would be to finish an overnight shift at Mcdonalds at 7am. Get some breakfast. Head to my early morning lectures. Head to my afternoon lectures. Do any on-set filming work that needed to be done. Head to an afternoon shift at Mcdonalds. Head to an overnight shift at my second job at a local bar. Quick sleep. Repeat the process all over again. But I did it, and I did it for 3 years, because I wanted that BA more than anything. Because I wanted to one day work at the BBC, to one day work within the British Film Industry. That's why more than anything I think my drive, determination and grit is displayed by my everyday duties rather than the variety of film experience I have gained so far. If you decide to hire me, you'll be getting someone who will work harder than most can muster, who won't complain about long days or a heavy workload, who will contribute beyond the call of duty and display creativity, and will do it all with a smile and a spring in his step. "I've worked with Joe Macbeth on many projects for many years. He's a very enthusiastic and motivated visionary who will always inspire project after project" - Daniel Vivash, Freelance Sound Recordist "I've worked with Fragrant Harbour for many years now and I've always been impressed with their creativity and dedication to each and every project they under-take. I look forward to working with them again in the near future." - Tom Dunne, Director of Photography "In the early part of 2011 I was fortunate enough to make contact with Joe Macbeth at Fragrant Harbour to discuss the possibility of producing two promotional videos for The Coco Lounge night club in Nottingham. Throughout the entire process I was incredibly pleased with the attention to detail that took place. We had a specific goal in mind and Joe took great pride in carrying out the task in a professional and timely manner. The results were fantastic and his passion for film is undoubtable with every project he undertakes. With social marketing advice from Joe, we have been able to develop a specific target market and increase revenue by using video to successfully promote the business." - Sammy Ault, Assistant General Manager, The Coco Lounge, Nottingham
