Scriptwriter (screenwriter) for film, theatre, televisi...

I am an award-winning scriptwriter, and lecturer, currently writing for film, radio, stage, animation, the internet and mobile phones. I began by writing comedy for the BBC, working with producers like The Office's Anil Gupta and Ash Atalla. I gained some dozen commissions from the BBC, writing for top comedians like Alistair McGowan, Ronni Ancona and Sanjeev Bhaskar, and I also wrote for the BAFTA-nominated Rory Bremner, Who Else? on Channel 4. I moved into stage drama and became Writer in Residence at The Canal Cafe Theatre, with plays produced in Edinburgh, London and ...New York. One of these plays is currently being adapted for feature film release and I have two other films... optioned and an animation feature script also optioned and under development. As a university lecturer in scriptwriting I also carry out script editing and 'doctoring' on every type of project, and whilst working in script development for an Indy I have made useful contacts throughout the industry. I am also a research scientist with some 60 publications and I have a wide range of experience in writing technical material, especially in medical and life science areas. I am a confident, well managed film reviewer who has done both volunteer and paid work for Empire Movie Magazine, writing ideas for articles, 'How Well Do You Know?' quizzes and film reviews amongst other things. I have written many reviews for my email subscribers list, keeping ahead of the game by having early access and being more than happy to travel to screenings. I studied ...Film and Media and both school and college as well as gaining a 64/64 level 4 Access Diploma in Film... Journalism where I completed assignments on critical writing and publishing my own magazine called The Hub’ where I designed and wrote articles including concert, film and culture reviews as well as a two page article about the negative impact the latest remakes are having on the film industry. I spend a lot of my free time watching and studying films, writing reviews for most of the films I view, trying to perfect my ability to write at a superior level. I currently work for Hmv where I am the DVD Buyer, having access to a whole range of DVD’s to watch and review at my leisure, but also gaining a good relationship with our marketing team and managing charity events. I am looking to start reviewing films professionally, outside of my day job, gaining more experience in the industry I am passionate to work in as a career.
